"Getting to explore Scotland with a group of peers through a faculty-led program was the best decision I could’ve made for my study abroad experience! I got to know my group really well and make genuine friendships that made the experience even more memorable and fun!” Said Angie Branson, a senior in the College of Liberal Arts at Oregon State University.
Angie spent part of last summer exploring Scotland through the OSU Faculty-led: Exploring Scotland's Cultural Heritage: Historic Sites and the Role of 3D Scanning in Preservation program. She gained insight into Scotland's rich history while also exploring the vital roles in preserving it for future generations.
“We dove into the culture, both past and present, to understand how to use modern technology like 3-D scanning to aid with historical preservation. At the same time, we got to explore cities, islands, castles, paleolithic sites, beautiful landscapes, and so much more!”
Our faculty-led programs offer students the opportunity to pursue coursework for an immersive deep-dive into a specific area of study. Most are 2-3 week experiences, but there are also some term-long options. These programs are great matches for students looking for more support while abroad and for those who have limited time.
“My study abroad experience is something I will never forget or regret. It taught me that the people you are with are just as important as the destination. I have nothing but love for Scotland and the people I met along the way!"
