Kasey Schuler, a senior in Design & Innovation Management in the College of Business at Oregon State University, attended the API Luxury Design Management program in Paris and Florence this past summer. As the student outreach and marketing assistant for the Office of Global Opportunities, Kasey is usually the person interviewing students who are back from abroad. “It’s so funny being the interviewee for once,” she laughs.

“I spent two weeks each in France and Italy at different fashion schools. We dove into everything from brand strategy and marketing to the craftsmanship behind jewelry, fragrance, and leather goods.”

Kasey also explained that her class learned from professionals at Cartier, LVMH, Ephèmera, Bulgari, and more!

“We took our learning out of the classroom with company tours, boutique visits, and I even got to try on diamonds which was truly unforgettable!” she explained further.

“This experience gave me a deeper appreciation for the attention to detail, creativity, and precision driving the luxury industry, and I’m so grateful for the inspiration, connections, and memories made along the way.”
